Katie was excellent with Colton and absolutely knew lots about U.S. History. She created scenarios for him to imagine the era and gave him much to visualize in her many examples. She was wonderful and I will absolutely recommend her and Great Place to Learn.

For me, the problem was math. I was a client at Great Place to Learn from the time I was in the third grade until my senior year in high school.   Although several tutors were very helpful to me, I can't tell you how grateful I was to work with Ge; I honestly don't know that I would have gotten through high school math without her help.  She always knew what was coming next and whenever I was "caught up" or understood my week's assignments, she would prepare me for whatever was going to come next; she was always right, too, and I was more prepared for the lessons and had less trouble in class.  There were times, though when I came to Great Place to Learn totally LOST.  I think that because she had worked with me every week, Ge could always tell just where I had gone wrong.  In a few minutes she could identify my problem and re-explain the math.  I always left understanding the lesson.

I had gone to Catholic school through grade eight, so the whole MCAS thing was new to me.  Good thing it wasn't to Great Place to Learn and Ge.  Because of their help I finished my math testing without much trouble and without a lot of the anxiousness over the tests that so many kids have.

When it was time for SAT's, Ge was especially helpful to me.  She showed me how to look at the different kinds of questions, figure out what they were really asking and how to solve them as quickly as possible. By doing this, I saved time on my tests and increased my chances of getting correct answers.  By practicing with her, I walked myself through the steps so many times, I became much less nervous.  It was very helpful to me when I actually took the SAT's to not be overly nervous and to follow steps through the math sections.

I think I should say, too, that my mother is a teacher.  But even when I was very young, her trying to teach me math just never did work out.  It was frustrating for us both and neither of us knows why.  Great Place to Learn was good for both of us, because I got the help I needed without pressure and frustration.  I have always been glad that the center was there for me and I would highly recommend it to other students and their families.

I am writing to express my appreciation for Daniel's hard work with Andrew on his writing skills. Andrew found that Daniel always kept the learning fun and stimulating. Despite being tired from a long day of school and soccer, Andrew always seemed energized at the end of each session. Daniel approached writing assignments from a different angle and encouraged Andrew to think in new and creative ways.

We appreciate Daniel's time and have noticed an improvement in Andrew's compositions as a result of his instruction. We recommend Great Place to Learn for any student seeking extra academic support.

It has been a pleasure doing business with you, and I know that Nick has benefited from the help he has received in calculus. Thanks again.

When my son was in the first grade, during the second half of the school year, his need for eye glasses set him back with his phonics skills. This inability to sound out words caused his reading skills to suffer.

At the start of the school year, his school sent home your brochure. My son started showing improvement by Christmas. To our family's surprise and joy, he read on the altar at his First Communion.

We would like to extend our thanks to Great Place to Learn. As you know, our daughter transferred to a new high school last year and was having difficulty catching up in Spanish. We have never regretted our decision to send her to GPTL. As pediatrics health care professionals, we value all that GPTL has to offer. She received expert help in Spanish, a boost in her confidence in class, and an immediate improvement in her grades and self-confidence. You have always taken the time to listen to our concerns and have been wonderful in helping us fit tutoring into our busy schedules. Thank you, again!

"When Great Place to Learn purchased the Cozza Tutoring center that my son had been enrolled in, I was very concerned that services would not be as good - I was wrong! My son continued to do very well in geometry, in fact, raising his grade to an A. What an accomplishment for a child with a learning disability. I highly recommend the center."

"I would like to inform you that Daniel's last tutoring day will be Wednesday, June 9. Attending GPTL has been extremely beneficial to him, as he has improved from F's to a B for the third term. Thank you for the help that was provided. "

"My son Nicholas is being tutored by Jason in AP Physics at your Swansea site. It has been a wonderful experience. Jason is a skilled teacher of advanced Physics as well as Calculus. Nick's grades have improved dramatically, but more importantly he has developed confidence in his own ability. As an educator myself, I know that it takes a special individual who not only teaches but also instills confidence. Jason is that special individual. Thus, I would like to commend GPTL on the high caliber teachers you employ. Not every tutorial center offers such skilled instructors in advanced courses. To you and to Jason, I would like to say thank you."

"I am sure you recall tutoring Mackenzie last fall/winter. I am enclosing a copy of her final
report card from fourth grade and her MCAS scores. As you can see, she improved TREMENDOUSLY and, in our opinion, ACED the MCAS (considering she did not have that type of exposure in the past)!!! This we feel had a lot to do with YOU so we thought we'd share the great news with you!! Even though you only tutored her for a short while...it made all the difference in the world. You were not only a tutor but also a mentor who gave her the encouragement that we tried so hard to instill. Sometimes kids relate better to outside sources and thank goodness we found you. Keep doing good things! You are a wonderful and caring teacher...your students are lucky to have you!"

"We thank Great Place to Learn for all their help during our son's last two years of high school. Sending him to GPTL was the best decision we've ever made. We immediately saw results in his math grade and his self confidence improved as well. As we approached his senior year, we were amazed when he readily agreed to be tutored during his senior year in both Math and SAT Preparation. It was during this time that our son applied to the Massachusetts Maritime Academy - his dream school. At the interview, when asked about his marked increase in the math grade, he was quick to tell the Dean of his tutoring situation. At the end of the interview the Dean made it very clear to our son that if they had not spoken and if he had not shown his willingness to identify his weaknesses and address them he would not have been even considered in the first entrance round. On December 21, 1999 we received the letter appointing him to the Academy. We are convinced that he would not have been successful had it not been for the services he received at GPTL. Our family is very grateful for all you have done for our son. I know our story is not unique for you as you see the rewards of your efforts everyday in all the children and young adults you help. Thank you so very much for all you have done for us."

" As a family with two ADHD children, we have been clients of Great Place to Learn for over ten years. In that time, we have seen many changes take place, both in the center and in our kids. One thing that has never changed is the pursuit of the highest quality in educational assistance for our children. As their needs have changed, their tutoring programs have been adapted to accommodate them. The staff has always been open to new ideas and approaches, and has always remained willing to work with us and with the schools. There have been times when, frustrated by the constant struggle to make the system work in our children's best interests, we have been at our wits' end. At those times, there has always been someone at Great Place to Learn who could help us put things in their proper perspective, so that we could seek out the right information and ask the right questions. For our family, Great Place to Learn has been exactly what its name says."
